About
Carl Alexandersson (he/him) is a queer spoken word poet and writer based in Glasgow, hailing from Småland, Sweden.
His work plays across languages, and softly, but insistently, explores themes of queer love, family, memory, and our relationship with the natural world.
In 2022, he graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a First Class MA (Hons) in English Language and Literature.
He was Highly Commended for the Edwin Morgan Poetry Award 2022, a runner-up for the Grierson Verse Prize 2022, shortlisted for the Wolves Lit Fest Poetry Competition 2022, selected for the BBC Words First programme in 2021, and awarded the UniSlam Slambassadors/Spirit of the Slam Award 2020.
